The European Commission has enacted law that will allow mobile users to set a bill ceiling on roaming charges, a move designed mainly to stop people inadvertently running up mind bendingly large data bills while abroad. Users can now tell their operator that they want to be cut off when their bill hits a pre-determined level. If they do not set a level, then the network operator has a duty to not let the bill exceed £45 a month without a warning. O2 certainly did this to telemedia-news.com while we were at Mobile World Congress and we are very grateful indeed. |
